eMailer Now Available Campus Wide

For the past year or more the Colleges of the Arts and Sciences have been utilizing a system called eMailer. Now this powerful communications tool is available to all areas of the university.

eMailer allows a user to choose from a series of drop-down menus to construct a current list of students in a given college or department, and then either export this list to Excel or use the application interface to compose a message to be sent to each of the students listed.

Beyond college and department the various filters available to shape the list of students to be emailed includes rank, fee status, affiliations (i.e. scholars, athletes, etc.), ethnicity, and class. Information for identifying the students includes SSN, full name, and OSU Internet User Name (name.n). All email is sent to the student’s osu.edu email address, so it is important to stress to students to check this mail regularly or set up forwarding to their primary account.

Access to eMailer is granted on a case by case basis. Some individuals who wish to use eMailer may not be granted that access.
